Its only issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks are required like emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path automatically and clean around them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
